爱科药业成立于2002年9月9日，被定为海口市重点科技项目和海南省高新技术企业。已发展成为集生产、研发、销售为一体，拥有一家现代化药品生产企业，两家全国性的药品经营企业，一家药物研究所，形成新型的药业集团。2008年6月30日，公司新建生物工程项目总投资1.8亿元。扩建项目拥有：年产1500万支瓶装大容量注射液生产线；年产3000万支非PVC大容量注射液生产线；年产800万支乳剂生产线；年产2亿支外用药生产线；年产2000万支冻干粉针生产线。届时海南爱科制药有限公司将成为海南省大的大容量注射液生产企业及中国大的外用药制造企业。
